About the Project

Meridian Land Services worked with Ducal Development to design and permit a 14-lot open space subdivision located off Howe Lane, near the Nashua town line in Hollis, New Hampshire. The property, historically used as farmland, was developed with a focus on preserving the rural character of the area while supporting the town’s open space planning goals.

Meridian provided a full range of services including boundary and topographic surveying, civil site design, wetland and soil mapping, septic system design, local permitting and state permitting. State-level permitting included obtaining:

  • New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) Wetlands Dredge and Fill Permit for a wetland crossing
  • NHDES Alteration of Terrain (AoT) Permit
  • NHDES Subdivision Approval
  • NHDES Individual Subsurface Disposal System (ISDS) Construction Approvals for individual residential parcels
  • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Notice of Intent (NOI) under the 2022 NPDES Construction General Permit

The project, constructed in 2021, includes the construction of Hobart Lane — approximately 1,162 linear feet of new roadway and associated infrastructure. It stands as an example of well-coordinated residential development that integrates responsible land use planning with environmental and regulatory considerations.
